Hi.
I am quite new as a user of Premier Pro, and when I import a video into the project- in the project window the little square in the right down corner which marks the sound file is grey while the marks for the video is blue. The undertext also says that there is a sound file connected to the video. When I drag this video to the timeline, the soundfile doesn't come along. Why, and what shall I do to get the sound? Very grateful for answers.

Most common user error is not source patching the track.

Thank you for your answer, but I do not think that is the problem. I don,t manage to get the sound file into the time-line at all. There is sound in the clip if I play it in the source window, but as I said, the colour of the little square in the lower right corner is grey when it comes to the sound file but blue when it comes to the movie. I suppose that means somethinhg. So I would think I do something wrong when I import the file into the project, but I do not see what I do wrong, nor if there is something I can do to correct it in the project window.

I see It means audio is connected and not yet used in the timeline.
Back to my screenshot: make sure A1 on the far left is checked blue.

Hi.
I tried to send you a screenshot, but only a small part of the picture was uploaded. Neither did I find the blue A you talked about. I am sorry.

Version 2020
Are you asking about Premiere Pro or Premiere Elements?
If Premiere Pro, which version number of CC 2020?
If Premiere Elements, this should be moved from the Premiere Pro forum to the Premiere Elements forum.

Reset a workspace
Reset the current workspace to return to its original, saved layout of panels.
1. Do one of the following:
• Click the Workspace menu icon and select Reset to Saved Layout.
• Choose Window > Workspace > Reset to Saved Layout.
from here:

If that doesn't work, try Preferences > Audio Hardware and set Input to None.
If that doesn’t work, try updating or rolling back your graphics driver directly from the video card manufacturer’s site.
If that doesn't work, try creating a new project and import the old one into it.

Hi
The problem is solved and you were right; Ann had the solution from the beginning. I apologize for all inconveniences my incompetence has entailed and thank you so much for your patience.
