Drag and drop import not working when running Premiere as admin

Hi guys,

So I've found an interesting bug that I'm trying to find a solution to.

If I run Premiere Pro without admin privelages, I can drag and drop files from Windows explorer into my project panel/timeline and it kicks off the importer. However, when I run Premiere Pro with administration rights, it does not allow me to drag and drop from windows explorer.

Does anyone know why?

I need to run Premiere with admin rights sometimes to properly use an extension.

I'm using Windows 10 with latest updates as well as the latest version of Premiere Pro.

That's bizarre, truely! What a pain.

That said ... drag/drop from Finder/Explorer is the least reliable way to export media into PrPro and get all the clip's metadata properly loaded into PrPro's various data spots. I tend to avoid it except occasionally with a quick H.264 file import.
