Dynamic Link Not Working

This is between premier pro and after effects. Both newest versions. 

Premier pro was not working so I decided to update today and now the dynamic link is not working. I tried an old project and a new project. I tried linking the AE file in different ways but it will not update on premier pro.

Also when I save the after effects composition the premier pro side says the media is offline. 

Anyone else experiencing this or know how to fix it please?

No idea how, but after repeatedly opening old files and creating new ones, this works now.
