Hi Friends,

I've been trying to export a video using PP but keep getting the following error. I tried everything I read on different forums like changing the format, trimming the video for the timings mentioned in the error, create new project and import but nothing worked. Can someone help me with this, please?

Hi there,

Sorry about the poor experience. If you are still experiencing the issue, please try these steps and check if it's working properly.

  • Temporarily remove any effect or transition applied at the timecode mentioned in the error
  • Disable Hardware Encoding under Export Settings > Video > Encoding Settings > Performance
(Ignore this step if Performance is set to Software Encoding)
  • Switch Renderer to Mercury Playback Engine Software Only and try to export

Let us know if it helps.

Thanks,

Sumeet

I'm having the same bug (see: https://community.adobe.com/t5/premiere-pro/gpu-render-error-unable-to-process-frame-writing-with-ex...)

I've tried the Mercury settings with and without CUDA, and I've tried both hardware and software rendering and none of it fixed it.

This is a brand new Premiere Pro installation (14.3.2) on a pretty decent machine (Windows 10 pro, Thinkstation P520, NVIDIA RTX 4000) and I'm not doing anything with effects lateryers or Lumetri.  This bug has been getting reported since 2017 and we're all paying a subscription and it's a complete show-stopper so I can't BELIVE Adobe would let this but go on for so long!

Hi Peter,

This is a pretty common error and I understand the frustration. Sorry. Is it a cross dissolve error you are getting also? Let me know.

Thanks,

Kevin

Yes.  In the posting I linked to there's an attached JPEG that shows the error message:  "AE.ADBE Cross Dissolve New"  What exactly does that message mean?

I get this a lot, it's a pain.

Try just making a new project, a new sequence in that project and then copying and pasting your entire timeline into it and exporting from there.

It makes ZERO sense that this would fix it yet it does for 90% of my problematic exports.

I've wasted more time doing those workarounds than I did editing the project!! It's just crap software and it's been going on for years!

Yep, I think around 40% of my Premiere Pro knowledge is knowing how to workaround the annoying bugs that never get addressed and seemingly get worse

These last few posts illustrate a problem one can have with going to an old thread for current issues.

At the moment ... January 2021 ... there's a massive problem with the Nvidia game-ready drivers that is causing all sorts of odd behaviors in Premiere. Simply doing a clean install of the Studio driver seems to fix the vast majority of obvious GPU issues, and realistically, many other things as well.

Does it fix all potential things? Of course not. But it does fix a ton of current issues with 14.6-8.

You were bang on the money! Uninstalled the game ready drivers, then downloaded new drivers, but importantly, there are "Studio Drivers".  These are the one's to go for. Renders nicely now 🙂
