How is it possible that Final Cut can export faster and smaller sized files (.mov or .m4v) compared to PP where using the Quicktime option produces a massive file and h264 takes longer to export and it's still bigger in size then the files exported from Final Cut?

Is there any way I can replicate the exact export settings from Final Cut in Premiere Pro?

Thanks.

As far as speed of export, naturally Apple juices the internals for any "house" app over any competitor's app, Apple being well, Apple.

As per file size, there are a bazillion different slightly different settings and patterns for export options in most formats. Any one team will end up with slightly to major different total selections compared to another team. Not even counting whether they have different goals.

The Premiere team's goals for export have always seemed to be worrying about the quality of the export rather than the size. FCPx team may worry more about the size. And yea, a lot of users would like a few options that got some of the compression available elsewhere.
