File Import Failure: The importer reported a generic error

I have two files that I'm trying to import. Both files were shot at the same moment (one right ater the other), same format (mp4), and around the same length (10 seconds). However, File #1 imported fine with no problems while File #2 resutled in an error that said "File Import Failure: The importer reported a generic error."

Things I've tried to fix this (unsuccessful):

- Restarting premiere
- Clearing media cache
- Renaming the file
- Moving file to a different folder

How can I fix this? TIA.

Please tell us your system specs: OS version, Premiere version, amount of RAM, Hardware specs including graphics card and tell us your source properties.  what kind of camera were you using.  It's possible one of the files is corrupted.  will both files open in vlc which is a great almost universal media player?
