Hi, I want to get some digital video and break it down into frames.  Can I do this in either After Effects or Premiere Pro.  This is my first investigation into such.

I also want to know how to separate sound from footage??? Probably difficult or can you just record the sound as it plays with the video.

Thanks for your help.

Do you mean you want to save a single frame of a video as a still image? Premiere can certainly do that.

Premiere can easily separate out the audio and video from a recording as well.

What platform are you on? On a Mac the free Quicktime app can save single frames, and create separate audio and video files from a video file. If those 2 operations are all you need, Moviemaker on Windows has similar functions.

Premiere might be overkill.
