Fix/Repair Corrupt Project File. PLEASE HELP

A project I worked on for months has suddenly gone corrupt. I accidentally formatted the hard drive the files were saved in but using a third party recovery software I managed to recover the files. When I open the project it states the project file is damaged. I have tried importing the file into a new project but I have had no luck. Is there anyway to repair or gain access to this project file as I have worked on this for almost a year. PLEASE HELP!
