footage does not respect mask

I am having a problem with my mask. This is my image (png) without any effects or maks.

When I try do create a mask, it does not respect the limits of my. Does anyone know why this is happening?

Do you have any effects applied to this layer? If so, if an effect other than the mask is removed is the mask ok?

I tried reseting but it didn't help. I figured it after all.. I had to change my sequence settings to make it work. Thanks!
