Gopro Aspect ratio 1440p

I am a new youtuber, I am so annoyed, I vlogged my holiday videos on a Gopro Hero 7 White at 1440p, I have used premiere pro to edit my videos. However, after exporting my video and uploading it to youtube the video is shown with vertical black bars on either side. 

I exported the video with the following settings:

H.264

1920 x 1080

Looks like the sequence is 4:3 instead of 16:9.

@Andy 1968 any idea how to change it to 16:9? when I upload to youtube the video plays with black bars

Please post a screenshot with left tab to OUTPUT as of now its set to source (left top). You will see better what is going on.

Your settup is correct 1440p in Gopro settings is 1920x1440 and 4:3.

But if you want this to go on Youtube then yes your are stuck with black bars.

Unless you change the sequence settings to 1920x1080 and edit the video (adjust horizon where needed).

Select timeline, go up sequence setting and change the height and width.

Just the height to 1080.

@Ann Bens I  have changed the height to 1080 however, the top part of the video gets croped out. Any solutions please where I can get the full video and keep the height to 1080?

Yes you will loose parts of the image > Its either a cropped image or black bars when posting on Youtube (your choice).

I would go for the cropped video and adjust postion to get the best part of the image. Might need to keyframe.

These are with differnt output settings (right colomn) compaired to the first screenshot.

Make your sequence 1920x1080 and your export 1920x1080.

BTW: That's not really what you think of when you said: 1440p. Usually that would be: 2560×1440, so you shot in a square is 4:3 aspect ratio, just our old televisions, even the black and white ones. Shoot in 1080p next time if the the camera does no better.

1440p (4:3) setting in Gopro is designed for fast action. To get more action in the shot which you can adjust later in your NLE in 1920x1080.
