How can I export a 4K video without a blurry outcome?

Hi everyone,

I'm new to editing. I've made a few video's so far and they look good, until I export my work. I shot my footage with a GoPro Hero 6. Side note, I have no idea at how many fps I shot them at the time. I would like to export in 4K. I set the preset to Match Source - High bitrate but my footage comes out blurry and glitched. I also tried setting it to Youtube 2160p 4K Ultra HD but that gives me an even more blurry clip at dimensions 2720x1530. Not what I want.

Please help me figure out how to set my export settings.

Kind regards,

Kimberly

Hi,

Yes. Dimensions of every shot are 3840x2160. I have no clue what I am doing wrong.

Hello Kimberly,

Today I encountered the same issue when trying to export 4K60p footage from a 3840x2160  60fps timeline. When I select YouTube 2160p 4K Ultra HD as a render preset, the basic video settings values drop to 2720x1530. I suspect the 60fps timeline to be the problem here. I just don't understand why it is happening. I the 4K60p footage is dropped on a 4K30 timeline then the export to Youtube 4k results in a  3840x2160  resolution.

Were you able to figure out how to fix this problem?

Thanks

Attila

Hi Attila,

I haven't figured out why the settings values drop. I'm quite new a this so I'm no expert.

I ended up exporting my work in format HEVC, preset 4K UHD.

If you figure it out, I would love to know how to fix this issue.

Good luck with your work 🙂

Kimberly

Did you convert all the footage as the filename is bit out of the ordinairy.

Imo bitrate for udh is too low.

Post screenshot of clip in Me diainfo in treeview.
