How do I confirm a crop?

I've watched several videos in which they explain how to crop a video, but none of them mention how to "complete" the crop after making the adjustments.  In Photoshop, I just click on the check mark and it's done.  In Premier Pro, there is no obvious way to do it, and none of the tutorials mention it.

Can someone tell me what this missing step is?

Thanks

Crop as in using the crop effect on a clip in the timeline.

There is no check mark. Effects dont have check marks.

You adjust the parameters, animate by using keyframes and that is it.

Or do you mean something else? If so post screenshots.

Okay, so if that's the case, why is this crop not taking effect?

I think you want to do this with the opacity setting in the effects controls not the crop effect.

Because masking the crop effect dont work together very well.

I filed a feature request for removing the mask feature from the crop effect.

You need to use your mask with opacity, not with the crop effect.

When you use mask with the crop effect, its basically masking the area where the effect is applied, based on that effects settings and NOT crop according to the mask. The crop effect only crops Top, Left, Right and Bottom
