How to stop timeline zooming out on every update to linked AE comp in Premiere Team Project

Hi, I have a Premiere Team Project that contains linked After Effects comps. The AE file is part of the team project. Every time I make any change at all to one of the linked comps in the AE project, Premiere zooms out the timeline to its widest view in Premiere, and I have to zoom back in again. It makes it painfully slow and difficult to incrementally adjust the after effects comp. This is happening all on a single computer, without sharing any changes to collaborators. How can I stop this behavior and keep the premiere timeline at its current zoom and playhead position when I make edits in AE?
