import probs cant move imported photos to timeline

I've screwed something up trying to move newly imported photos to timeline  The only difference is when hovering above "Import" the second window never comes up and I cannot move the photos .  something got changed and I do not know to fix.it

I should clarify - ussing latest PPro CC, import works and they appear on the list, BUT in trying to move these photos to the timeline does nothing .  This problem now exists in all my other PPro projects including new ones.  Ialso deleted PPro - reinstalled with no change to the problem
