Importing captions

I'm importing an SRT file as Open Captions and it doesn't seem to make any difference what my Caption Import settings are. I'm trying to bring them in with a dim background on the letters and/or an edge to the letters, but the background is 100% black. Alternatively is there a way to modify the look of all the captions at once. I seem to be able to change only one at a time by highlighting that text.

Be sure you select the check box for the override in the Caption Import Settings dialog.

Yes, if that doesn't work, you can select all the captions at once. In the Caption Panel, Right Click -> Select All. Or you can select the first caption, then Shift-Click the last. (Or select a subset with shift or control.)

But you can't use Control-A.

Thanks. I just had the Style option set to override since that's what I was trying to change. When I checked all the override boxes, it has worked. And Right Click, duh.

Lol. Duh, right. You are not the first to have that reaction (including me). But a treasure once you know its there!
