in Premiere Pro CS 6 audio problem

Hi.I need help with an audio problem. I got some video files from a person to include in a video story I am making and she recorded it at a very low audio level. So when I put it on the timeline I needed to adjust greatly the audio gain. That was ok, but the audio gain seemed to create a fluctuating background noise or something.I have tried to eliminate it but I can't seem to do it. Any suggestions on increasing audio level in a video without creating very distracting background noise or whatever it is?Thanks in advance, Sincerely, Ray
