Issues regarding playing back media with Premiere Pro 15.2

Ever since this new update I've been having some issues regarding playing back media.  Whenever I try to play back a clip in the preview window or on the sequence timeline, it will freeze and wont play.  My cpu has an Intel Core i5-6200U CPU @2.30GHz with 12 GB RAM with a 64 bit OS

Sorry for the performance issue. We can get this checked.

• What type of media files are you editing (codec/ format, frame rate, frame size)?
• Have you tried deleting cache files? 
• Could you test the issue after resetting the preferences? https://community.adobe.com/t5/premiere-pro/faq-how-to-reset-trash-preferences-in-premiere-pro/td-p/...

If you have nested audio in the timeline, delete and see how it goes.
