Laggy Premiere Pro

Has this issue been solved?

I've had the complete Adobe Creative Suite for a year now and every software works just fine on my laptop (Photoshop, After Effects, Indesign, Illustrator, Audition...) but the only program that has never worked properly since day one is Premiere Pro. It's is just too laggy and glitchy. The timeline is horrible to work with because of the lag and you can't press spacebar to play the video. I've tried everything in this past year. Maybe someone has a magical solution?
