Merged clips: no IN point in viewer!

Came across a weird thing.

When using the sync and merge clips by audio waveform, I am no longer able to set the in point (of the merged clip) in the viewer. Only out point.

If I do the syncing/merging old school way by in points. There is no issue.

Ok, sound starts running earlier. But why is this? Is it a glitch or bug? Seems strange to me.

Anyone else?
