Multicam editor: editing out part of clip, but linked audio persists

I'm editing a multicam sequence, but when I cut a portion in the timeline, the linked audio (the main audio track that all the video clips are synced to) persists. I've been editing this way previously without this problem.

Just figured it out (spoiler alert: newbie mistake). The audio wasn't visible, so I was only deleting the video portion. I realize now that marking and extracting is a better way to handle it. Thanks for replying...
