Should I use my mechanical hard drive for media cache files or my M.2 drive? Why is my mechanical hard drive just as fast as my M.2 SSD? The video below demonstrates what is going on under the hood of Premiere Pro during the editing process. I imagine for a lot of you the CPU is the bottleneck as opposed to the hard drive. You might be able to edit much faster by making a few simple changes. That is not to say Premiere Pro is bug free.
