Hi there,
I'm trying to put 4 masks, each showing different content into another video clip. I've read about nesting clips but I seem to be missing a step when I try to do it and I end up with some working, some inverted and others not. Can anyone talk me through please? I'm a relative beginner-moderate user.
Cheers,
Robert

It is not clear from your description what you are trying to do.
Are you applying the 4 masks to a single clip? Of stacking multiple clips with a mask applied to each?
What are you nesting?
Screenshots of what you are doing will be helpful.

The four screens in the grey panels have videos inserted by someone else and I want to replace them with other videos.

You cannot have more than 1 inverted mask on a clip.
If you want to add more inverted mask to a clip you have to nest between each mask or try this:

Thanks for this. How do I nest the clips and masks? I have 4 monitor screens in the main image and I want to show different video in each. I know I need to nest them but I seem to be missing a step when doing. I'm sure it's really obvious what I'm missing.

Draw mask
nest
draw mask on this nest
nest
draw mask on this new nest
etc
For 4 inverted masks you need to nest 3x.

Could you be even less clear and more pretentious?
Asking how to nest - and you answer "nest".
Waste of time and no help to future readers.
This thread still does not explain how to nest...

Right-click on the clip, nest.

Track mattes would probably work better but there is a bug. That being said you would target your video layers to one track matte. You would then crop, resize the and postion the video layes as needed. You can create the track mattes using the Old Legacy Titler.
