No Motion or Scale under Video Effects

Hi sorry if this is a dumb question, it's literally my first day with Premiere.

I watched this video about how to have multiple clips on screen https://youtu.be/8M6N2wH1XCQ . The method involves adjusting scale and position under Video Effects, but I can't find where under Video Effects that is. I searched the Video Effects tab and they don't show up that way either.

I attached a couple screen shots of what I'm (not) seeing.

Any help is appreciated!

thanks

Hi there,

No worries you're just not looking in the right place. The EFFECTS tab is for video and audio filters and transitions. The Motion effects you're looking for – Position, Scale, Opacity, etc. – can be found in the EFFECTS CONTROLS tab. It's usually docked behind the Source monitor but if you don't see it go the Window menu and enable it.

Thanks for your response! The setup is confusing but I'm getting the hang of it.

Not your fault, Lazlow. Totally confusing naming conventions, I agree.
