No sound without earbuds/headphones

When I am using my headphones, I hear everything perfectly with no problems in any specific projects or windows. When I unplug my headphones, I switch my audio device in my windows settings, and then there is no sound. It doesnt seem to be a problem with windows because sound comes through just fine on everything else. Please help.

Double check in the "audio hardware" area of the preferences to see if the right device is selected for output.
