October 2020 Update causes Generic Import Error with Photoshop files

I have a very basic RGB Photoshop file linked in a Premiere project. However, whenever I try to re-link it I get the "importer reported generic import error." This project was fine last week. I should have known better than to upgrade this early on, but I wasn't paying attention.

Unfortunately, I'm a teacher with over 60 students sending me this assignment which I cannot grade now because I cannot see what they've done! Any ideas?
