hey, totally new to premiere pro!
in dire need of some help, please disregard my use of incorrect terms..
thanks in advance!

 

so, for whatever reason i x'ed out of all the panels? on the editing screen and i am left with only one remaining..
does anybody know how to reverse this?

starting a new project doesn't reset my problem like i thought it would

You can reset the workspaces. Either the menu item Workspace/reset to saved layout, or simply double-clicking on the workspace name on the tab listing the workspaces at the top of the window.
