Hi folks,
On AE I'm a big fan of ordering my Project window by label colours assigned to different folders.
Looking into this on Premiere and it's a bit odd.
Although you can change the label colours and names, which could be great, it then changes how they order.
This seems dependant on the colour itself rather than its name.
So I haven't found a way to have a red label (for seqs) at the top.
This is the kind of thing I'm after. This works quite well. But I'm just curious now.
Has anyone else tried and suceeded to get this to work
Cheers

It look to me the bins are ordered by name or rather by number.

Yes, I've had to add numbers and sort by name as a workaround.
I was curious if anyone knows how the label ordering works and has got it to work to create a similar order without having to add numbers to everything to order correctly.
For example:
It works really well in AE. Meaning I can order things quickly by using colour labels. I kind of thought that was the point of colour labels.
In premiere they just behave strangely to me.

Guessing something like:
bin
sequence
audio
movie

Premiere uses a sort-order, which you can see when you click on the drop-down for Sort at the bottom. Those are the options you have. Yea, not exactly like Ae.

Oh yes, I see it.
That's just for Icon view though right? Not list which I use.
My point was that you can order by colour but it seems very hard to work out how it works:
This order doesn't match the order shown in prefs.
And if you change colours in prefs to something more usual, like red for seq say, it will reorder the labels according to the actual colour you assign not the name you give the colour.
Makes it very confusing to order by label colour.
No worries though. I'll use numbered folders.
Thanks for the help

That actually is the sort for the Project panel either view. Now, you can of course go move things and it becomes "User Order" ...
