performance issues

I updated my mac to the BigSur update, is anyone having issues with overall performance with older files, by old I mean less then a year old. Been trying to go back to correct one thing in a project and it freezes premeiere everytime, have had to restart my computer more then 10 times in the last 24 hours.

Could you try importing the old files into a fresh new project? Try unchecking Import Workspaces from Projects. For this go to Windows > Workspaces > Import Workspaces from Projects.
