Hello,

I am running Premiere CC 2020 Ver. 14.7.0, and am running into an issue where every time I try to add a marker to a timeline, it crashes.  I have tried various things to pinpoint the problem.

-Changing the keyboard shortcut does not work.

-Applying marker to a clip works just fine.

-Going through the dropdown menu at the top and adding a marker does not work.

-Clearing the Cache does not work

-Using a different and new project does not work

This is my first post, so I'm not sure what computer specs you may need to properly diagnose the situation.

Windows 10 Home

Version 1909

AMD Ryzen 7 2700X Eight-core Processor 3.70GHz

Radeon RX 580 Series Graphics Card 8GB

48gb DDR4 3000 RAM

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you, Eric

Exact same symptoms here, both on a Mac and a PC. I reset my preferences which fixed the problem. I then reloaded my KB shortcuts and screen layout without any negative impact.

  • Press Alt (Windows) or Option (Mac OS) while launching Premiere Pro. You can release the Alt key or Option key when the splash screen appears.

Thank you!  Your solution works great.  Same scenario for me too.  Running 14.0 on a PC and everytime I hit "M" it crashed.
