I need to deliver the following to a European TV station:

ProRes 422 HQ output with 4 stereo audio channels (multitrack)

I cannot figure out how to export stereo multitracks in Premiere Pro.

I have created numerous new sequences with multitrack enabled.

Number of Channels: 4

All tracks are set to: Standard

Outputs are assigned:

Audio 1 Track Channel: L-R assigned to Master Track Channel: 1-2

Audio 2 Track Channel: L-R assigned to Master Track Channel: 1-2

Audio 3 Track Channel: L-R assigned to Master Track Channel: 3-4

Audio 4 Track Channel: L-R assigned to Master Track Channel: 3-4

Since I intend to export stereo tracks I left the pan/balance centered.

I understand that it's redundant, but that's the TV station specs.

In the Timeline I cut in

The cut video

The required stereo track mixdowns to A1–A4.

When I export I always get mono tracks.

Is it possible to export stereo tracks in a ProRes 422 HQ multitrack output?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi Thurly.

Can I please see some screenshots?

I would especially like to see the following:

1 - Sequence Settings, Audio options.

2 - Preferences, Audio Hardware

3 - Preferences, Audio

How did you set up your Sequence please? I created a template for this, by creating a new project and going to New/Sequence and setting things up manually. For this, you have various options under 'Master', with Stereo, 5.1, Multichannel & Mono options. This must be set correctly for things to work as expected, and equally the tracks must be correctly panned & routed - if you are in multichannel is it for Quad, and is it set up correctly?

You also say that the TV Station specs are asking for 2 stereo tracks - can I please see the Station Specs sheet as this is most unusual as surround is usually delivered in mono tracks that will be encoded to the correct form by the station, unless what is being asked for is a main stereo & an M&E track, which would require separate rendering.

Finally - you are familiar with surround production, yes? Supplying multichannel for TV stations is not a task for the novice (and I am not being either rude or patronizing here as there are so many pitfalls for the unwary or inexperienced it's just not funny) and again can we please see the relevant section of the channel delivery specifications so I can see what they are asking you for?

Once you are set up, you still need to be able to deliver the correct format - and that may be a different story.
