Premiere Pro files not opening without resetting preferences

Over the past few days I've needed to reset settings (Option button while starting up) on premiere just to be able to open projects. If I don't it goes to the home screen just fine.  Hoever it hangs up if I try to open any files.  I haven't really changed anything other than going from 14.4 to 14.5.  Oh yeah, I'm using a MacPro 2019 with MacOS 10.15.6.

Try using the  Cleaner Tool and reinstalling:

Have you tried opening your projects from inside Premiere as well as from Finder?
