Hello there!

Premiere Pro has been glitttching out badly for a while now. Basically, if I import  video files and ANY Audio file into premiere, the playhead on the timeline will glitch out and I won't be able to scrub through the timeline properly. This started happening many months ago, hence I abandoned permiere pro for Resolve. This happens with most of the files i tried. Any help would be appreciated!

Please tell us your system specs: OS version, Premiere version, amount of RAM, Hardware specs including graphics card

and here are the minimum specs for premiere

https://helpx.adobe.com/premiere-pro/system-requirements.html

and you might tell us what your sources are?  by any chance are they shot on a smartphone or are they screen recordings?

If so, the problem is variable frame rate sources.

screen recordings are often variable frame rate which can cause issues in premiere that are hard to predict and if you've got vfr material in your timeline, it could effect other areas in your sequence...

https://community.adobe.com/t5/premiere-pro/faq-issues-with-screen-recorded-footage-in-premiere-pro/...

use mediainfo to determine whether your source is variable or constant frame rate
https://mediaarea.net/en/MediaInfo/Download
if it's variable use handbrake to convert to constant frame rate
https://handbrake.fr
and here's a tutorial on how to use handbrake

The same thing is happening to me, I have no idea why. Sometimes it works completely fine for my entire project, sometimes it glitches out. If it DOES glitch out, it's usually midway thru the project and I will literally have to restart the entire thing. Typically this seems to occur when I work with images rather than video. Also, it won't update my timeline if I open another sequence or try closing the current one. If I undo and remove the imported files that started the glitch, it goes back to working like normal, but no matter what I do, if I try importing anything to the same project from there on, it triggers the same glitch. Super annoying and discouraging, it makes me not want to edit anything out of fear of having to restart.
