I have to deliver a video tomorrow, it is very important to fix this issue as fast as possible, please help. Premiere Pro started lagging an hour ago and i tried everything: i uninstalled it and reinstalled it, i deleted all of the footage from the project and reimported it, i am also working with proxies so it should not be lagging, but nothing seems to work. If someone could help me i would be really grateful

Hi @Michael Grenadier thank you for your answer!

I did restart my pc but it did not fix the issue. However, i did manage to solve the issue, for some reason the project processing was changed from CUDA acceleration to OpenCL. When i changed it back it went back to normal.

My laptop specs:

- Core i7 7700hq

- 16GB ram

- NVIDIA GTX 1050

The footage is stored in the internal sata ssd.

Thank you again for your answer!

Please tell us your system specs: OS version, Premiere version, amount of RAM, Hardware specs including graphics card and your source properties and sequence settings.  Could be that a drive is failing...  Also, this may seem like a silly question, but have you tried restarting your computer?  by any chance have you done any zoom meetings.  I find that things can get screwy after zooms or similar sessions and that a restart will usually fix the issue.

and thanks for closing out the thread and helping others who may have the same problem.  Not everyone does that.

Hi @Michael Grenadier I wanted to give an update on this issue because it happened again, but I was able to finaly solve it (I think).

For some reason Premiere was using too much ram, I had 16GB and 11GB set to Adobe apps. When I opened this project it started using almost all of tose 11GB, and when it reached the maximum the computer would crash. This issue happened with other projects as well. So I installed 32GB of RAM (24GB dedicated to Adobe apps) on my computer and I haven't had this issue again ever since.

I'm not sure if I actually solved it because the problem was due to high RAM usage, that still happens every now and then (high ram usage, not the crash), but the computer never crashed again so adding more RAM is an option i guess.
