Premiere pro make audio waveform big without zooming in

Hey there,

I want to view a bigger waveform on my timeline so I can make edits. The issue is that I am using amplify on my audio track to get my audio to sound at a correct level. If I use gain effect and drop it on the clip then the audio waveform changes and becomes big.

Is there a way I can view a bigger audio waveform when effects are applied to audio tracks and not to the clip?

Do let me know if there is there a way I can apply gain to an audio track?
