Premiere Pro playhead keeps playing for 3 - 6 seconds in timeline after pressing pause

Really annoying, about 50% of the times when I hit pause in premiere it keeps playing for about 3 seconds and then pauses. When I hit the spacebar the playhead stands still, video and audio continue for 3 to 6 seconds and then the playhead catches up. This is costing me a lot of time.

Working with Premiere Pro 2020 > 14.0.4 

I believe it's been this way since I got the laptop which was january 1st but not 100% sure.

Working on a MacBook Pro 16inch 2019,

2,3 GHz 8-Core Intel Core i9

32 GB 2667 MHz DDR4

AMD Radeon Pro 5500M 8 GB

Intel UHD Graphics 630 1536 MB

Anyone able to help me out here?
