I was working on a video project, and usually, I don't save pretty often during the editing process when it's a small project. Premiere Pro closed itself without warning, there was no warning and no message of the crash afterward.
which version do you have? If you don't have the latest version please update it and i advise you to clean media cache and reset the preferences if premiere is not working normally
PS:usually when a crash happens and you reopen premiere .. it asks you if you want to restore the latest version saved of the project before the crash.. so the project will restore automatically
And you can check the auto save folder also
I wish you have the auto save feature ON in premiere
