when i import any .mov file from my iphone, premire freezes on the import loading screen and then crashes. I've tried every way to remedy this by deleteing files, updating my driver and turning off previews, premire has been pretty much unusuable because most of the videos i edit are .mov files

If NVIDIA graphics, make sure to use the latest or the one previous to the latest Studio Driver from NVIDIA (NOT the Game Driver).

If that doesn't work,try resetting the preferences:

If that doesn't work, try resetting the Workspaces:
Reset a workspace
Reset the current workspace to return to its original, saved layout of panels.
1. Do one of the following:
• Click the Workspace menu icon and select Reset to Saved Layout.
• Choose Window > Workspace > Reset to Saved Layout.

If that doesn't work, try Preferences > Audio Hardware and set Input to None.
If that doesn't work, try creating a new project and import the old one into it.

Just install the newer version. I was using 2022 and faced this issue. Downloaded 2023 and it was fixed. but wasted the whole day looking for a solution. Hopefully, this will help someone.
