problem with my timeline

If I position the playhead on a video clip or just a picture in my timeline I do not see anything in my program window unless I manually move the playhead over the clip. It  works fine during playback. I do have some projects where this does not happen. I would appreciate some help. Thank you, Umberto.

The problem fixed itself after I restarted the computer.
