sometimes the program monitor goes white (where video goes)

sometimes the program monitor goes white (the entire program monitor)

sometimes it shows nothing

sometimes 'pending' forever

sometimes i hit play, nothing happens

sometimes i hit play, video doesn't play but the play button changes to stop and when i press stop, it won't change back to play.

timeline is rendered.  This is a nightmare.

now getting 'not responding' popup.  I've restarted so many times today I've lost count.  it's like the more I render, the worse it gets.

Hi there,

I understand this is not ideal. I understand you are getting glitches related to playback and preview. Could you check which graphic card is installed on your computer?

Also, please test the issue after cleaning media cache:  https://community.adobe.com/t5/premiere-pro/faq-how-to-clear-your-cache-in-premiere-pro-2019/td-p/83...

Let us know the outcome.

Thanks,

Shivangi

First, there are wonky Nvidia drivers ... if you've got an Nvidia GPU, roll back to at least the 445.x drivers, some need the 442.19 driver. Use the "clean install" option and the Studio driver.

Next ... for this kind of stuff, dump the cache/cache database file in toto, and probably Trash Preferences too.
