Good Afternoon ,

I am working on a project I shot with my Canon EOS M50 in 4K. Upon editing clips, maybe 15 minutes in , if i leave the premiere app to maybe google something, my premiere program monitor freezes. The timeline will not play but i can still scrib, make cuts, apply effects and all. It seems to be only footage from this camera, 1080p or 4K that causes this issue in premiere. I have re-exported these clips to 1080p and tried to edit, tried proxies, + all of the forum work arounds only to result with the same outcome which eventually leads to a crash. I am on the verge of switching software because it is so frustrating.

My computer specs are

2020 Macbook Pro

1.4 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5

8 GB 2133 MHz LPDDR3

Intel Iris Plus Graphics 645 1536 MB

Please suggest me any fixes!

Alas you machine is way underpowered to edit 4K and HD in Premiere 2020.
