Can you give examples of file types that Premiere is not reading like - MP3, JPG?

What happens when you import the images or sound? Do you get an error when importing or do they import but just not display the visual or audio content?

I would suggest (if you haven't done this already) - uninstall Premiere and then reinstall. It may be that there is a corrupted file and the update on its own did not fix it.

If you are doing a full uninstall, look at the Adobe Cleaner tool:

Please let us know if a full re-install worked. Make sure you also update your graphics driver and possibly use the CC Cleaner Tool.
