Recording voice into a project - jumps back to start of video

have a premiere project with several video and voice over clips - all worked fine till they end.  Now trying to record in (using computer mic) my final voice file but when i hit record in the project the curor jumps back to the start point in the project rater than recording where the curor is postioned to put the recording ?? Help please

...the "start point." See this other thread below.

 

The bottom line is that if you have an in point set, an outpoint, or both, the VO jumps to the in point.

 

Use the "Clear In and Out" in the Markers menu.

And besides what Stan noted, starting a VO does another thing ... it starts a "pre-roll".

 

Which means the CTI or 'playhead' jumps back three seconds and starts playing back while counting down " 3    2   1   recording" on the screen. It doesn't start recording until it hits the place the playhead thinks you wanted to start recording.

 

So you have to wait for the "recording" bar in red to appear, then start talking.
