RED cam footage ingests fine, displays improperly

Hi all. PPro 14.1.0. Mac OS10.13.6

I just ingested my first set of RED clips! Oh boy, what a bother...

Here's the problem. RED segments their files into 4GB chunks. For clips of any duration (eg, any clip larger than 4GB), there are multiple files that make up that clip. And for whatever reason, Premiere insists on packaging those longer/larger clips as a folder, with a sequential clip ref for each segment.

YET, I can place any of those "segment clip refs" into a timeline...and the entire clip will play, head to tail.

Why is Premiere displaying Red clips like this?

A couple of pictures might help: First, here's what the out-of-control folder structure looks like:

Next, here's one of the folders, showing the multiple, sequentially numbered clip refs:

Finally, here's what it looks like when I lasso all the clip refs and put them in a sequence: Duplicate City
