Separate sounds in a videoclip?

If I have a video from a waterpark on holiday and I have loud background noise from waterfalls etc and I can hardly make out when people are talking. Is there a way after importing the clip into Premiere Pro that the program can separate the different sound sources (background noise and people talking) so I can lower one (background noise) and boost the voices?

I already invested in a shotgun mic (Röde) to fix this problem in the future.

Premiere wont do much for you.

Might want to have a look at Audition or Audacity.

So, you load in the clip into Audacity and edit the sound there, then save it to hard drive and then load it into PP?

The best thing you can try in Premiere is the Essential Sound panel and try to fix the audio there by selecting "Dialogue" and then in there is a "repair" area where you can see if Premiere can get rid of "noise". If not, then you'll have to start studying on how to do that, or do voiceovers maybe.

Hey, what helps me the most is clicking on the audio and then jump over to the audio interface. There you can choose dialogue. I suggest using the following effects:

dynamic (increase the value so it focusses on the voices)

Enhance voice (higher or lower tone depending on who speaks)

Otherwise, just check these two videos:

Hope that helps!
