Thank you in advance for any help with my video editing and Premier issues.
I am a newbee at video editing and Premier. My issue is that it's taking way too long to render and/or to get video clips to flow propperly in time.
My gear:
• An old Mac Pro 3,1 with OS 10.11 El Capitan.
• 2 x 3.2 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon
• 24 GB RAM
• Premier C6
• My resources are five .mov videos, about 3 minutes each, which were recorded on an iPhone SE
• My Premier project and videos are on an internal secondary drive.
• I don't have Adobe Media Encoder. I do have Handbrake which I've used in the past.
Last night it took 2 hours to render one of the videos. I tried lining them all up and rendering and it stopped progressing after a couple hours.
I've gone through YouTube and my Premier doesn't seem to have the same drop down options as other people have. I don't see an option to create proxies.
I just want to create a music video where I use my existing music and line up the five vids on top of each other and then cut them up.
Is there something I'm overlooking to make this process go faster?
I solved the problem. It was all about converting/encoding the files before importing to Premier. In my case I was able to do it with Handbreak. It made Premiere run much better

If you are realy using Premiere CS6 then you are out of luck.
Program is old and no longer supported.
CS6 does not have proxies and it cannot handle phone footage.
What do you mean by render: making preview files (green bar) or exporting?

Thank you. By rendering I mean green bar. One of my files now has a green bar. I'm dreading having to go through that process multiple times

Why dont you have Adobe Media Encoder.

There's a conflict. Media Encoder is not opening. I could try to boot from Mountain Lion & see if I can do the encoding from there.
