Source patching on tracks with SDK

Hey,

I'm using CEP to build an extension for PPro. 

Is it possible to select a track for source patching for insert? for example (select V2 and patch insert a clip):

Can I do so with ExtendScript? or, can I know if a track is selected for patch insert? equivalent to Track.isTargeted().

I checked out this thread but I'm not quite sure we aim for the same result.
