Hi, I have a question about storage optimisation with 2 SSD's.

I am using these 2 drives:

Samsung 970 EVO 1TB

Read: 3.400 MB/s

Write: 2.500 MB/s

Interface: PCI express 3.0 x4

(External) Samsung T7 1TB

Read: 1.050 MB/s

Write: 1.000 MB/s

Interface: PCI express 3.0 x2

(The T7 is plugged in a USB 3.2 slot.)

My question is, what drive(s) should I select in the Scratch Disk options. So, where should I put the:

  • Captured Video.
  • Captured Audio.
  • Video Previews.
  • Audio Previews.
  • Project Auto Save.
  • CC Libraries Downloads.
  • Motion Graphics Template Media.
  • Media cache.
  • Source media.
  • Project (.prproj)

I've heard it is better to split the data and files between two drives. But I have no I idea what I should put on which drive.

I hope you guys can help me out! 🙂

You can have the OS and media on the same drive. If you are editing H.264 both drives are more than fast enough. The video link below might be helpful. That being said if you have to render from time to time deleting media cahce files can help.
