Text Boxes Not Appearing

Hello, I am very new to PR and I am in the middle of making a video. When going back, I looked up how to make subtitles. However, when I press 'T' to put in text boxes and type, nothing appears on the timeline thing. I can type in the text boxes and they will appear in the video, but I can not expand or decrease the time they stay. Can someone please help me? Thanks

actually I read that but I didn't know exactly how to fix it still so I just decided to post it here
