Videos importing too fast

I'm having a recurring problem where videos I'm importing are being imported way faster than they were recorded. The actual playback time is way shorter than the length of the videos outside of premiere pro. I have tried setting the default audio hardware input to No Input and it hasn't fixed anything. I've tried importing the videos in different projects as well, to no avail. Any help would be greatly appreciated, trying to complete a project for school that is due tomorrow.
