Hello,

Have been struggling with this for a few days.  I inadvertly put gopro onto 1 minute timelapse - yep it's a mess with over 75,000 of them.  Was wondering if there is a way to put these together to make videos? I can't go back and reshoot it's not feasible.

Thank you in advance for any help - and if Premiere Pro 2020 is not the right product to use I have the whole suite. 💁🏻‍:female_sign: what else to do

It’s very easy, time lapse import from stills is built in.

1. Choose File > Import as you would normally do, and go to the folder containing all the time lapse stills.

2. Select the first still image file.

3. Select the option “Image Sequence.”

4. Click Import.

That’s all! When the Image Sequence option is selected, Premiere Pro takes all the stills in the folder and creates a single video clip. So in the Project panel, you will see just one clip instead of over 75,000 stills.

If you want to control how Premiere Pro treats the video clip that was generated (such as adjusting the clip’s frame rate), you can do that by selecting the clip and choosing Clip > Modify > Interpret Footage.

Hello,

Thank you for weighing in - although I know exactly what you are talking about - problem is that they are not sequential. There are missing images and we used 5 different GoPro's

Thank you,

OK. If there are missing images, does that really mean there are separate discrete time ranges, and the missing images are the gaps between the time ranges? If so, I’m not sure if there is an easy way to automatically segment them by time. Someone else might know.

It should be easier to separate the clips produced by the five different GoPros. Open Adobe Bridge and view the folder, and open the Filter panel. One of the criteria in the Filter list is Serial Number, which means camera serial number.

Bridge-Filter-panel-Serial-number.jpg

When you select a checkbox next to one of the serial numbers, that shows only the images produced by that camera serial number and hides the rest. After doing that, choosing Edit > Select All will select just that camera’s images, and now you can move them to a different folder if you want. By extending this technique you can isolate each camera’s images so you can move them to a separate folder.

That might be a good first step. Then, after separating the images by camera, you can go into each camera’s folder, set it to List view (in Bridge or on your computer desktop), and look at the Creation Date column for time breaks that would indicate the start of a separate time lapse sequence. If you see one, then you can put those images into a separate folder.

Then, of course, after you are done pre-processing by camera and by time, you can import each of those folders separately so they will each become its own video clip in Premiere Pro.
